As part of this year’s Where Do We Go from Here – Chaos or Community celebration, Foundational Associate Professor in MSU’s Department of African American and African Studies Tamura Lomax, Ph.D. presents a keynote speech, “We Don’t Need a Hero. We Need Accountable Community Workers,” encouraging listeners to do away with the simplistic whitewashed vision of Dr. King. The speech calls on us to more honestly read the moment we are in and to speak out against the status quo in the courageous manner of Dr. King.

MSU Issues Enhanced-Physical-Distance Directive

Thank you for your participation during this period of enhanced physical distance. The final positivity rate for last week was less than 1% among participating students, indicating the decrease was maintained in our first phase. This is encouraging progress and shows that the positivity rates are currently stable for the on-campus community. As a result, the enhanced physical distance directive will be lifted beginning Sunday, Feb. 28.
