Standard Residence Hall Rooms

The 2026-27 residence hall rates include a fully furnished room, in-room Wi-Fi, and utilities. First-year students will not have a single room.

Incoming students pay a $50 one-time, non-refundable housing application fee, and a $175 advance payment toward their first semester bill. Learn more.

AVAILABLE DINING PLANS

First-year students will have an unlimited on-campus dining plan. Learn more at eatatstate.com.

DINE ON SILVER

Unlimited access to all-you-care-to-eat locations and 12 Combo-X-Change meals per week (Sunday through Saturday). Spartan Cash and guest meal passes are not included. Spartan Cash can be added online at spartancash.msu.edu

DINE ON GOLD

Unlimited access to all-you-care-to-eat locations, 12 Combo-X-Change meals per week (Sunday through Saturday), $150 in Spartan Cash and four guest meal passes per semester. Unused Spartan Cash remains on your ID card and is non-refundable. Guest passes expire at the end of the semester.

DINE ON PLATINUM

Unlimited access to all-you-care-to-eat locations and 12 Combo-X-Change meals per week (Sunday through Saturday), $300 in Spartan Cash and eight guest meal passes per semester. Unused Spartan Cash remains on your ID card and is non-refundable. Guest passes expire at the end of the semester.

OPTIONAL DINING PLANS AVAILABLE

University Apartments

The residence hall apartments are ideal for upperclassmen who want more independence while remaining in the heart of MSU's campus. The following are the 2026-27 on-campus apartment rates.

Available Dining Plans

Dining plans for apartment residents are not required; however, an on-campus dining plan can be added to any apartment plan. Additionally, apartment residents can purchase an off-campus dining plan on the Eat at State website.
