Air Conditioning at MSU
Van Hoosen Hall, University Village Apartments, and 1855 Place are air-conditioned.
If you are assigned to any other on-campus housing location, they are not air conditioned and we strongly suggest you bring a fan or fans. Personal air conditioners of any kind are not allowed to be brought or used in your room.
Requesting an AC Unit for Medical Need
Residents with a confirmed medical need may request an air conditioner for their residence hall room at an additional charge.
Laundry at MSU
Laundry facilities are located in each residence hall building, including University Village and 1855 Place apartments.
Laundry machines are available for students to use at no additional cost. Laundry supplies may be purchased at select Sparty's locations.

Transgender Residential Experience
The Transgender Residential Experience is a dedicated living community designed to center the experiences, needs, perspectives, and joy of trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse students who are looking for an inclusive environment where additional resources, education, and weekly programming will occur. T-REx provides a community for trans students, nonbinary students, their supporters, and others that may want to reside in space that supports their needs.
Transfer Student Housing
For the 2025-26 academic year, transfer students are exempt from the two-year live-on requirement and are not required to reside on campus.
On-Campus Housing
For those interested in on-campus housing, the Housing Request Form is now available in My Housing. We will house as many students as available space allows.
