Live On Hall Tours

The department of Residence Education and Housing Services (REHS) operates 27 residence halls, each offering a unique space and living experience.

In-person residence hall tours are only available during prospective and admitted student tours booked through MSU Admissions. This page will be updated if residence hall tours are open to current students once again.

In the meantime please check out our 360-degree tours of residence hall spaces.

Service Centers

Service Centers by Neighborhood

Your residence hall service center is your one-stop shop for check-in and check-out, picking up mail and packages, grabbing a temporary key or access card, exchanging linen packets, checking out a vacuum or broom, and much more! Please note, some package centers hours are subject to staff availability.

Decorating Your Room — Spartan Style!

Moving to college and starting a new life away from home is a thrilling experience. It’s also when you get the chance to design your “home away from home.” Your new room is a blank canvas that calls for wall posters, string lights, Polaroid photos, polka dot bedding and other room decorating items that will define your college years at MSU. Feel free to be creative; this is your Spartan space!

Getting Involved

It’s no myth that Michigan State University is a huge place. That’s why it’s a great idea to find your place here and have a network to rely on. One of the best ways to create that is by joining a club or organization here on campus, and you can do this without needing to leave your neighborhood!

Getting To Know Our Staff

Resident Assistant

A resident assistant (RA) is a student staff member who lives in the residence hall and apartment communities and is assigned to a floor or wing. As a peer, an RA serves as a basic source of information and referral help and assists residents in adjusting to campus life. The overall responsibility of an RA is to provide leadership and support to individual residents, residence halls and apartment communities.
