Transgender Residential Experience

The Transgender Residential Experience is a dedicated living community designed to center the experiences, needs, perspectives, and joy of trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse students who are looking for an inclusive environment where additional resources, education, and weekly programming will occur. T-REx provides a community for trans students, nonbinary students, their supporters, and others that may want to reside in space that supports their needs. This program is consistent with direct feedback from Spartans and their request for an enhanced gender inclusive housing option.

Residents selecting the community in East Neighborhood should recognize and understand it intends to be a welcoming space for students seeking to live in a non-gendered environment.

This program is a collaborative effort between Residence Education and Housing Services and the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center. For more information, please visit https://gscc.msu.edu/trans-msu/T-REx.html.

If you are interested in living in the T-REx community, you can apply in your My Housing account. Incoming students will find the T-REx special community option under "Expanded Gender Inclusive Housing."

If you have any questions or need further information about the T-REx community or the application process, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Housing Assignments Office at 517-884-5483. You can also reach out to the Gender and Sexuality Campus Center at 517-353-9520 or by email at gscc@msu.edu

All programs and activities are open to all without restriction or preference based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, national origin or other protected personal identities.
