Michigan State University’s guest housing options are conveniently located on campus and designed to support both short- and long-term housing needs for faculty, staff and visiting scholars as well as their families.
Staff and faculty relocating to the East Lansing area or experiencing life events who require temporary housing are invited to stay at either Owen Hall or the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center.
Visiting scholars requiring housing during their time at MSU are invited to stay in either of the following guest housing locations, depending on the duration of their stay.
Owen Hall
One of Michigan State’s 27 residence halls, Owen Hall is ideal for visiting scholars looking for a living environment conducive to study, along with the privacy of a single room. Located in Michigan State’s beautiful River Trail Neighborhood, Owen also places guests near the Red Cedar River Trail and the shops and restaurants of Grand River Avenue. KELLOGG HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTER
Located on campus in Brody Neighborhood, the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center provides the perfect hospitality experience with comfortable and ample hotel rooms close to the Breslin Student Events Center and Brody Square. Kellogg is perfect for a short visit to Michigan State.

Michigan State University’s award-winning Culinary Services team provides residents with dining excellence seven days a week. With nine residential dining halls, each neighborhood offers made-to-order, fresh and healthy options, so you are sure to eat well while working on campus.

When you pre-purchase your meals in blocks of 10, you’ll pay just $9 per meal and all your meals will be conveniently loaded onto your MSU ID. Purchase a dining plan online at Eat at State or by calling 517-884-0660. All plans include daily access to residential dining halls and include take-out options.
