Michigan State University's on-campus housing system is primarily home to first- and second-year undergraduate students. Graduate students do have options to live throughout the system, including in Owen Hall or our two on-campus apartment communities, 1855 Place and University Village. 1855 Place also offers options for family housing.
On-Campus Housing Sign-Up
Upper-class undergraduate students and graduate students living on campus select housing in November for the following academic year. Students admitted to graduate programs after this selection period, or students not currently living on campus, can contact the Housing Assignments Office at liveon@msu.edu to inquire about space availability. The Housing Assignments Office will evaluate graduate student needs on a case-by-case basis and provide an answer within five business days.
Michigan State College of Law Students
Law students will submit a housing application via My Housing, Applications for Fall will open the first week of April. Once approved, students will have access to sign their housing contract. Contracts must be signed by the first of June to be guaranteed housing.
Institute of Agricultural Technology Students

Off-Campus Housing Options
