Did you know you can stay in your room over spring break at no registration or extra cost?
With the first month of the semester over, spring break is just about a month away. Scheduled from Saturday, Feb. 29 – Sunday, March 8, many students are beginning to plan for their relaxing week off. Students staying on-campus during break are welcome to remain in their rooms at no registration or extra cost.
Due to the change of typical university operations, residence and dining halls will run on a different schedule than usual. During this week, only the primary desks in residence halls and apartments will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Resident Assistants will be on duty between 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for additional assistance.
For safety reasons, building access will be restricted to residents and staff during spring break. Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 1, all residents must use their student ID to gain entrance to their residence hall. In each neighborhood, the building with the operating dining hall will be unlocked during the specified dining hours. Sparty’s and Sparty’s Market will also remain open with limited hours. All hours of operation for dining over spring break are available at Eat at State. Regular dining hours will resume on Sunday, March 8.
Safety for students during spring break is MSU’s top priority. Please refrain from propping ANY doors open or leaving ANY doors unlocked at any time. We also strongly encourage students to not travel alone at night and to be responsible for their guests and friends. Anytime safety or security may appear compromised, call 911 or text MSUPD to 274637.
We hope all students traveling and those staying with us have a wonderful, safe and relaxing spring break!
