Internet and Wi-Fi
Highspeed Wi-Fi is available in all residence halls, 1855 Place and University Village. Students will need to log into the Wi-Fi and register all devices before using MSU Wireless on campus.
If you have questions or Wi-Fi issues, contact the MSU IT Service Desk.
Each residence hall room has a minimum of one ethernet port. Students looking for additional ethernet access can explore purchasing ethernet switches from the MSU Tech Store.
Cable Television
Both new and returning students will need to rescan their TVs to have access to the most updated channel listing. For more information about the new lineup and to find answers to cable-related questions, visit Technology at MSU.
Xfinity on Campus offers live TV, Xfinity on Demand and Cloud DVR.
Students can use phones, tablets, desktops, laptops, Rokus, Smart TVs, and more to stream content. The service includes popular on-demand programming, such as HBO. The service is included in room rates, in addition to the current cable access. There are some premium channels students can optionally pay to add to their account, such as NFL Redzone and Showtime.
For full access, students must be connected to the campus data network to use Xfinity On Campus. To get started with web viewing, students will visit xfinityoncampus.com, search for Michigan State University and login with their MSU student credentials. Students can also download the Xfinity Stream App.
Learn more on the Technology at MSU website. Xfinity offers a customer support page at support.xfinityoncampus.com, or students can contact the MSU IT Service Desk for assistance.
