Spring Semester Housing

All new and transfer students must live on campus for their first four semesters, excluding summer term, at MSU. Soon you will have access to the 2021-22 Housing Contract that must be signed for the spring 2022 semester. If you believe you qualify for a Housing Exception, you can review eligibility and process information on the Student Life website.

You will also will be given access to the Spring 2022 Housing Preference Form. This form is where you will indicate your room preferences to be considered as we assign spaces. While we cannot guarantee we can honor your preferences, all efforts will be made within our current space availability.

In this form, you will indicate your room type preference. MSU has two room styles: suite-style, which is two rooms connected via a bathroom; or community-style, where all rooms on the floor share a bathroom. Community-style bathrooms are in North Neighborhood, Brody Neighborhood, and Shaw Hall in River Trail Neighborhood. Suite-style bathrooms are in East Neighborhood, South Neighborhood, and McDonel Hall in River Trail Neighborhood. More information about our neighborhoods and residence halls can be found on our website. You also will indicate some living preferences that will help us assign you a roommate.

Both the 2021-22 Housing Contract and Spring 2022 Housing Preference Form will be accessible in your My Housing account on Monday, October 25.

All first-year students will select housing for the 2022-23 academic year in March 2022. You will receive more information on that selection process in January.
