Welcome Home Spartans!

Congratulations on being accepted to Michigan State University! As you transition to life at MSU, we want to help you choose the on-campus housing and dining options that are best for you and your lifestyle. All MSU students who sign their Housing Contract by May 1 have the option to select their own neighborhood, residence hall and room.

Here is how it works:

Sign your Housing Contract

Log into iLiveOn and sign by May 1, 2018. (If you have already done this go to step two!). In order to select your room you must complete your Housing Contract by May 1, 2018. Students who complete their contract after May 1, 2018 will be assigned a space by the Housing Assignments Office and will be notified of their assignment before arriving in the fall. If you are under 18, your parent/guardian must also sign the contract.

Check Email

Make sure to check your MSU email for housing and dining information. Once you are accepted to MSU, all university communication is shared via MSU email.

On May 2 you will receive an email from Live On with your designated time to select your room and dining plan.

Find Your Roommate

If you don't already have a roommate in mind, it's easy to find one using the Roomsync app. In collaboration with RoomSync, MSU gives students the ability to find and choose their roommates for a happier and more gratifying on-campus living experience. The app is available through Facebook, Android and iPhone.

Finding a new roommate on RoomSync is easy; log into your iLiveOn account to begin. Take a look at this guide to start searching!

Explore Your Neighborhoods

Take a virtual tour of the different neighborhoods around MSU. We have five different neighborhoods, each with unique features. Our neighborhoods include: Brody, East, North, River Trail and South

Get to know residents in your new neighborhood using social media! #SpartansLiveOn

Remember, all new students (freshmen and transfer) with 0-28 credits are required to live on campus. We recommend students live on campus for two years. A recent study showed that, on average, sophomores who lived on campus had higher GPAs than those who did not.

On-campus housing offers a variety of options with the convenience of living in the heart of MSU. Our neighborhoods each have unique and individual features that will help you succeed during your time here at MSU!

Brody Neighborhood is located on the west side of campus just north of the Red Cedar River. Brody Neighborhood consists of six residence halls: Armstrong, Bailey, Bryan, Butterfield, Emmons and Rather

This neighborhood is made up of the oldest residence halls on campus and feature traditional collegiate style architecture. North Neighborhood consists of 10 residence halls: Campbell, Gilchrist, Landon, Mayo, WilliamsYakeleyMason, Abbot, Snyder and Phillips
