Welcome New Students!
We're happy to have you on campus and starting your brand new adventure. Every year we get hundreds of new students who start their journey during spring semester. To help you out we've prepared the resources below. Please take some time to get aquanted and get involved.
With MSU Neighborhoods, students have an opportunity to realize their full potential through a wide range of programs, activities, and support services.
The Engagement Centers are unique spaces located in each neighborhood and serve as the main access points to important resources such as tutors, academic advisors, health practitioners, and other consultants that can help you navigate through your college career. You can visit the engagement centers to:
- Sign up for recreation and fitness programs
- Make an appointment with the health clinic
- Find assistance with math coursework, writing papers, and other academic subjects
- Get academic advice from advisors
- Learn about upcoming events in and around your neighborhood
- Socialize with friends
- Use group study space
- and more!
Michigan State has over 550 registered student organizations. There really is something for EVERYONE here! You can find groups specific to majors, niche activities like longboarding and table tennis, or groups passionate about a particular cause. CONNECT WITH COMMUNITY
We know that you are super excited to meet new friends and to get the next chapter of your life started. To help ease the anticipation, why not connect with your future neighbors via social media? There are many different websites that you can use to connect, but one of the most effective is Twitter. Use your neighborhood's hashtag (#MSUBrody, #MSUSouth, #MSUEast, #MSURiverTrail, #MSUNorth) to meet some new friends before move-in day arrives. While you're at it, make sure you follow all of our social media accounts for updates and special content created specifically for new Spartans!
