What is Michigan State University’s position on gender identity?

MSU supports the right of all students, faculty, and staff to access university employment, housing, educational opportunities and campus activities. In April 2007, Gender Identity was added as a protected category to the University’s Anti-Discrimination Policy (ADP) [http://www.hr.msu.edu/documents/facacadhandbooks/facultyhandbook/AntiDiscrimPolicy.htm]. The ADP considers the term “gender identity” to be inclusive of gender expression.

Questions regarding the ADP can be referred to the LGBT Resources Center or the Office for Inclusion & Intercultural Initiatives at (517) 353-3922.
