Can I sign up for a room if it is only me?

Every apartment in University Village has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.  Each bedroom is considered a separate housing contract with Michigan State University.  Depending on availability you can sign up on your own or with 1, 2 or 3 other friends.

1855 Place will be our new on campus apartments. Opening in fall 2017 for MSU single students, these newly developed apartments are perfect for students searching for a little more independence while staying connected to the perks of living on campus. Can I take a tour of University Village?

University Village is near capacity and there are no open apartments or models available.  If you visit www.liveon.msu.edu and click on Virtual Tours (right hand side of page) and scroll over to University Village virtual tour, it will show an apartment via a virtual tour.

How can I (or my friends and I) get a spot a University Village?

Log on early during sign up!   Have the information necessary, including names and Housing Number. The system will show what is available depending on the number of people that you are wanting to live with or if you are wanting to live in one bedroom and sign up on your own.

The link is now live on your iLiveOn account for you to be able to go in and create your room code. Once this is created you will be able to apply this when signing up for housing. You can also apply a roomate code to pull in your desired roomate. 

How can residents sign up to live together?

Residents can sign up as individuals or with 1, 2, or 3 other roommates.  During sign up it will be necessary for roommates to know the names and roomate codes of the other residents who they wish to share an apartment with.

How much is the Rent at University Village?

The rent for the current year; 2016-2017 is $719 a month or $3,085 for each semester.  The default payment is by semester, if you prefer to pay monthly, please email UVinfo@rhs.msu.edu to make the change to monthly.

Each Apartment has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and each bedroom is considered a separate Housing Contract. 

Next year’s rates for University Village; 2017-2018 is $733 a month.

What appliances are included in the apartment?

Refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, and dishwasher are all standard in the apartments. Washers and Dryers are available Free of charge with a student I.D. in each of the buildings on the 2nd floor.

What furniture is included in the University Village?

In the Bedrooms there is a full size/long that is raised higher above the ground and a small dresser fits under the bed to offer more space.  There is also a desk and chair.  

In the Living/Dining Room; a sofa, 2 living room chairs, 2 stools at the kitchen counter, and 4 chairs and dining table are all included.

What if University Village sells out by the time I log on?

University Village has historically ‘sold out’ very quickly, typically within hours after sign up starts.  If you do not get selected, you can be put on a waiting list by emailing:  uvinfo@rhs.msu.edu . Typically the waiting list is not “worked through” until the following summer in July or August, no updates or specific information is given out in the interim.

What is included in the Rent?

All Utilities, including an expanded cable television line up are included with the rent. There are no landline phones available at University Village Apartments.
